The Experience
Valkyrie Pathfinder Experience + 2 hour Sea Kayaking Discovery Tour
This experience begins with a Valkyrie Pathfinder Experience in Musquodoboit Harbour. The scenic Gibraltar Rock loop centers around a defined ascent where the primary elevation is gained in one steady climb, allowing participants to focus on pacing, foot placement, and controlled effort. The trail rises to Gibraltar Rock, opening to sweeping views over the river and the Shubenacadie glacial spillway. It continues along exposed granite ridge past Horne’s Lookoff, crosses a small brook at Gibraltar Junction, and descends through fir forest before rejoining the Trailway for the return. The terrain blends exposed granite, forested single track, and measured elevation change, offering a rewarding backcountry feel that remains approachable for strong beginners.
After the hike, the group settles into oceanfront Nordic Huts at Norse Cove Campground for an evening beside the sea.
On day two, participants join a two hour guided coastal paddle. The session begins with a shoreline safety briefing and introductory instruction before exploring sheltered waters near the 100 Wild Islands. This paddle focuses on confidence building, steady movement, and coastal immersion.
Valkyrie Hiker Experience + Half Day Sea Kayaking Exploration
This experience begins with a Valkyrie Hiker Experience through the Admiral Lake Wilderness Loop. This dynamic wilderness loop moves through open burn areas and moss covered forest before reaching a series of scenic lookoffs including Rolling Stone, Harbour Lookoff, and Admiral Lake Lookoff. Sweeping views extend across Musquodoboit Harbour, coastal waters, and the island scattered surface of Admiral Lake. Along the route, hikers encounter varied terrain including cliffside sections above Eunice Lake and a talus cave feature that adds texture and geological interest. The sustained distance and elevation shifts make this experience ideal for women ready to combine endurance with varied terrain and expansive scenery.
After the hike, the group settles into oceanfront Nordic Huts at Norse Cove Campground for an evening beside the sea.
On day two, participants embark on a four hour guided sea kayak expedition through the protected waters of the 100 Wild Islands. Following a comprehensive shoreline safety briefing, the route explores granite headlands, sheltered coves, and island dotted horizons, with a planned Wild Island stop. Guides share insight into marine ecosystems and maritime heritage as the group travels farther into the archipelago.
