Frequently Asked Questions

  • Valkyrie Adventures is designed for women who want meaningful time outdoors in a supportive, small group setting. Experiences are offered at different levels, from introductory hikes to multi day wilderness travel, so you can choose what feels right for where you are now.

  • Participants come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels. What they share is curiosity, a respect for nature, and an interest in moving through the outdoors together in a supportive way.

  • Participants should arrive with a base level of fitness appropriate to the pathway selected. Regular walking, hiking, strength training, and time spent on uneven terrain are helpful. Preparation enhances both safety and enjoyment.

More information can be found in on the Choose your Pathway page.

You do not need to be an expert, just honest about your comfort level.

  • Each pathway outlines distance, elevation, terrain type, and overall demands. Review the experience details carefully and choose the level that reflects your current ability, not your ideal ability. If you are unsure, reach out and we will help you select the right fit.

  • Supportive pacing is a core part of every experience. Groups move together, breaks are built in, and no one is left behind. The goal is steady, confident movement, not speed.

  • Group pacing is steady and supportive, but all participants must be capable of completing the planned route. In remote settings, early exit options may be limited. Experience details clearly outline expectations so participants can make informed decisions before booking.

  • Experiences are guided by Valkyrie Adventures or, where noted, delivered in partnership with licensed and insured third party operators for specialized activities. Every experience is planned with safety, communication, and group care in mind.

  • Safety is prioritized through careful route selection, group size limits, weather awareness, and clear communication throughout each experience. Guidance is calm and attentive, with flexibility built in if conditions or participant needs change.

  • Group sizes are intentionally small to allow for connection and individualized support. Minimum and maximum participant numbers are listed on each experience page.

  • Sleeping arrangements vary by experience and may include tents, wooden beach tents, Nordic huts, or backcountry cabins, Airbnb’s or hotels. Each experience page clearly outlines the accommodation type so you know what to expect.

  • You will receive a detailed packing list before your experience. Some trips require participants to carry their own gear, while others use fixed accommodations. Specialized equipment is provided where noted.
